UP = 1

Ready to pass packets.

DOWN = 2

The interface does not pass any packets.

TESTING = 3

In some test mode. No operational packets can

be passed.

UNKNOWN = 4

Status cannot be determined for some reason.

DORMANT = 5

Waiting for some external event.

NOT_PRESENT = 6

Some component (typically hardware) is missing.

LOWER_LAYER_DOWN = 7

Down due to state of lower-layer interface(s).
